Are responsible to:
•Review the company safety program and all benefits associated with the company safety program with all employees under their supervision.
•Become actively involved in the development and maintenance of the safety program through the sharing of experience or knowledge and by providing feedback to management on program requirements.
•Inspect worksites for hazardous conditions and report all hazardous conditions/situations that cannot be immediately fixed to management and fellow employees exposed to the hazard.
•Perform field task hazard assessments on all work sites prior to the start of any job. Hold toolbox meeting with all involved employees to ensure they are aware of hazards.
•Be knowledgeable of all Electrical Codes and OHS Acts and Regulations that apply to the scope of work. Follow safety requirements and rules as identified in this manual and in OHS Acts and Regulations.
•Ensure the necessary personal protective equipment is provided to workers and ensure workers use the equipment in the proper manner.
•Know the locations of and how to use emergency equipment.
•Understand and implement emergency procedure when and where required.
•Report incidents and near miss incidents as per the incident reporting procedure and assist in all accident/incident investigations as required.
•Assist in implementation of all accident/incident investigation recommendations and monitor them for effectiveness.
•Provide required On The Job Training and evaluate Apprentices progress using Task Observation reports.
