Responsibilities > Safety Advisor

Is Responsible to:

•Help everyone to carry out their health and safety responsibilities.

•Co-operate with the occupational health committee and help it to be effective.

•Support health and safety systems and programs throughout the workplace.

•Advise managers, supervisors, foreman, and workers on health and safety matters.

•Co-ordinate and follow up on health and safety activities, such as safety meetings, field inspections, accident/incident investigations, hazard reports, new employee orientations.

•Perform worksite tours and inspections to observe employees working in the field, and discuss health and safety items, at least annually.

•Collect and analyze health and safety information and statistics.

•Co-ordinate, provide, and monitor health and safety training.

•Conduct research on special problems.

•Maintain and upgrade the company safety manual and program.
