A charged SCBA unit in case of H2S gas release

1.Call Supervisor and the Client Representative and evacuate the site.  The Supervisor or Client Representative shall inform Provincial or Federal regulatory agencies of the spill as per their regulatory requirements.  Power Tech Industries Ltd. employees / contractors are not expected to respond to a spill or release on a Client’s site.  Only attempt what is absolutely necessary and to the limit of your training.

3.If the product is suspected to contain Hydrogen Sulphide, ensure you have a backup person and don breathing apparatus.

4.Caution should be taken not to place yourself in an explosive / flammable / poisonous environment.

5.Wear any other appropriate PPE (PVC clothing, rubber gloves / boots, face shields, etc.), depending on the type of product spilled.

6.Assess the situation, including the products involved (produced water, chemical, oil, etc.).  Plan your response according to this assessment.

7.Contain the spill as much as possible and route spilled hydrocarbons away from potential environmentally hazardous areas (water sources, creeks, rivers, etc.).

8.Secure the site from unauthorized access, ensure clear access for emergency response personnel and restrict public access.

9.Complete the Power Tech Industries Ltd. incident report.
