The intent of worksite inspections is to assess the work site conditions and work processes, ensure that company standards are being maintained, ensure hazards are being identified and controlled, and to ensure all controls follow OHS Regulations. Conducting inspections with a checklist on a routine basis ensures that the inspector looks at the equipment or work process from a safety perspective. Deficiencies that are routinely missed or ignored are identified in this process. The inspector identifies hazards before they result in accidental loss (i.e.: injury, equipment damage, spill, etc.).
•All inspections will include supervisors and workers who are working on the site to ensure employees are aware of the hazards and controls.
•All inspections should result in a list of hazards or potential hazards.
•All formal inspection results and deficiencies shall be documented.
•All deficiencies shall be followed up on in writing.
