It is the goal of Power Tech Industries Ltd. to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all our employees. However, if an employee does suffer an injury or illness at the workplace, it is our policy to return them as soon as possible to a healthy, productive role in the workplace.
Power Tech Industries Ltd. will:
•Keep detailed records of all injuries and / or illnesses.
•Provide detailed incident reporting, including corrective actions.
•Find tasks / jobs which would be suitable, productive and meaningful for employees requiring alternative duties.
•Communicate the details and availability of the alternative duty / Return to Work program to medical providers.
We will make every effort to enhance the employee’s rehabilitation efforts and decrease their time away from the job. Regular communication with any employee who is off work due to an injury or illness is also important.
Employees returning to work from a work or non-work related injury / illness where lost time is involved must have a signed work release from their attending physician. This release is to be returned prior to returning to work.
When employees return to work, the restrictions set out by medical providers will be communicated to management and supervisory personnel.
Meaningful, productive work shall be assigned with agreement from employees.
We shall try to provide work:
•For the same job on the same shift; or
•Tasks within that department; or
•Same task, different shifts; or
•Positions outside the shift and/or the department.
While at work, frequent communication and monitoring of the employee is essential to prevent the employee from returning with a lost time injury.
If any problems should arise, the employee and supervisor should notify the medical provider as well as management.
