ERP Responsibilities

Management:

Ensure everyone understands his or her role and responsibilities in an emergency.

Identify Locations of emergency equipment, and review with appropriate personnel and ensure all equipment is in working order.

Test required emergency drills by performing bi-annuall drills or table top discussions according to these standards.  Emergency drills will be evaluated by all workers involved to evaluate the effectiveness of the drill and to identify and correct any deficiencies found during the drill.  An action log will be created and followed until all deficiencies and required corrective actions found during the drill are corrected.

Ensure that other emergency drills are completed at least bi-annually and evaluated as above.

Supervisors:

Identify emergency evacuation point(s) at the start of a project on a remote worksite, if this has not already been done by the Client.  Communicate the locations of evacuation points to Power Tech Industries Ltd. employees and contractors on the affected site.

Ensure all personnel go to the assembly/muster point when an emergency situation arises.

Only those who are trained to respond will respond to an emergency (there are no heroes).

Ensure pertinent sections of the Power Tech Industries Ltd. Emergency Response Plan are reviewed with applicable personnel.

Ensure that emergency location-specific contact numbers, location and directions to a worksite are identified in writing and discussed with all personnel in a field task hazard assessment or pre-job safety meeting.

Where a site-specific emergency response plan has been prepared, ensure that this plan is reviewed with all personnel on site.

When an emergency occurs, proceed with emergency specific practices as identified on following pages.

Ensure the safety of personnel, the protection of the environment and the prevention of any further loss or damage to company property;

Activate the emergency response plan, ensuring these practices are fulfilled, communications are made, direction and control is maintained until the emergency is over or until relieved by a competent and trained person.

Each emergency situation may require different / unique responses; proceed accordingly.

After all personnel are safe, the location has been secured, and emergency services have been contacted, make the required internal (Power Tech Industries Ltd.) contacts starting with the Company Management and ensure the following information is conveyed:

Location of emergency,

Nature of emergency,

Required response,

Emergency services already contacted,

Your location and next action.

All near misses, illness, accidents, property damage, time loss incidents, first aid incidents, medical aid incidents, and work refusals must be reported on a Power Tech Industries Ltd. incident report form on or before the next working day.  Any employee or contractor involved in the incident may be required to complete a report form and assist in the investigation, if an investigation is deemed necessary.
