WHMIS 2015

Power Tech Industries does not import, use, store, or decant hazardous products.  However, there are consumer products brought into the workplace, so WHMIS OHS Regulations 315 - 329 will apply to the workforce.

All employees will receive WHMIS 2015 training that will cover:

The basics of WHMIS.

Recognizing the pictograms for each WHMIS class.

Identifying the hazards linked to each class.

Getting information about hazards associated with hazardous products and protective measures from labels and SDSs.

Safe use, handling tips, and how to take basic measures to protect yourself.

Training will be relevant to the place of employment and performed in consultation with the OHS Committee.

All products brought into the workforce will contain a supplier label.  If the label becomes illegible, a new label shall be applied, or the product will be disposed of and replaced with a new one.

If a product is to be decanted, and not used up in one shift, a workplace label shall be applied to the product container.

All products brought into the workforce will be accompanied by a current supplier SDS sheet.  SDS sheets will be available to all workers by having binders in the crew room, the upstairs office, and in all crew trucks.  To ensure SDS sheets are current, they will be checked yearly to ensure they do not pass the 3 year expiry date.
