The Supervisor on site is responsible for conducting the pre-job safety meetings prior to the start of all jobs. Pre-job meetings will also be held at the start of any new project where a Hazard Assessment form has been completed. The hazard assessment form contents and results shall be discussed with all pertinent workers. See Hazard Assessments Section (4.0).
All persons involved with the job will attend the pre-job safety meeting and will have input to help identify and control hazards.
Pre-job safety meetings will also be conducted before the start of activities that are not performed routinely and which are, by their nature more hazardous, such as:
•Projects involving confined space entries;
•Before any job requiring the use of breathing apparatus.
Pre-job meetings are intended to be used to review job procedures and the scope of work. This review ensures consistency in understanding among all those involved. Applicable procedures (including those applicable contained in this manual) should be reviewed.
The meeting should also provide workers with the opportunity to ask questions regarding the job.
Formal minutes should be kept, including the date, time, topic and those in attendance should be recorded. Completed meeting minutes should be sent to the office as previously stated.
