1.Contact your Supervisor, Client Representative and Emergency Services. Any fire or explosion has the potential to become a major emergency, therefore sound an alarm first, then contact emergency services - before attempting extinguishment. The Client emergency number may be on the Safe Work Permit or on the well site sign.
2.Ensure all personnel are accounted for, conduct rescue if required and it is safe to do so.
3.Power Tech Industries Ltd. employees and contractors are not expected to extinguish a fire on a Client’s worksite. Employees are expected to notify the Client and evacuate the site. Only attempt what is absolutely necessary and to the limit of any training you have been provided.
4.DO NOT ATTEMPT TO EXTINGUISH A PRESSURIZED GAS FIRE (this would only result in a gas cloud and an explosion hazard). Have the source of fire/gas release isolated.
5.Attempt extinguishment of a spill or liquid fire only if you feel comfortable and confident at being able to do so with the available equipment.

7.Anticipate other possible situations should the fire become more involved, such as:
•Location of storage tanks, propane bullets, etc.; will they be affected by heat.
•Identify the flow direction of a spill fire, will it involve more equipment if not stopped.
•Is there potential for explosion of equipment involved in the fire? If so, evacuate area.
8.Direct available manpower to:
•Secure the site from unauthorized access.
•Ensure that clear access and directions are provided to emergency response personnel.
•Ensure crowd control.
9.If serious fire / explosion has occurred, the site must not be tampered with or altered (after it is made safe), until the authorities have conducted their investigation. Work is to remain suspended until approval has been granted to resume by appropriate authorities.
